Wage Clerk

Responsibilities:

The duties of the Wage Clerk include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Administer wages and handle wage-related queries, including managing WCA and IOD cases.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records, wage contracts, and leave administration.
• Capture, verify, and process production data to support payroll accuracy.
• Maintain employee training and development records to ensure compliance and effective workforce tracking.
• Assist supervisors with basic administrative tasks such as drafting warnings and recording medical certificates.
• Coordinate staff transport arrangements and manage the duty driver schedule.
• Request quotations, place orders with suppliers, and monitor delivery timelines.
• Manage and record stock levels of diesel, chemicals, fertilizers, and other key consumables.
• Oversee and support the work of the office cleaner to ensure a well-maintained office environment.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit and reporting requirements through accurate record-keeping.
• Perform additional reasonable administrative duties as required to support smooth departmental operations.

Requirements:

• Educational level of Grade 12 or equivalent,
• Reliable mode of transportation,
• Able to speak, read and write either English or Afrikaans,
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience in an administrative/clerical position
• A medical fitness exam must be passed,
• Relevant experience in the above key responsibilities,
• Good communication skills,
• Computer literate
• Disciplined and systematic approach
