OHSS ADMINISTRATOR
 


We have an exciting opportunity for a high-potential Occupational Health Safety & Security Administrator to join our organisation. The ideal candidate needs to be driven and energetic, with a passion for collaboration to achieve goals and objectives, and the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels. Reporting to the Manager: OHSS, you will work at the Fruitways Packing Services Office in Grabouw (Molteno site)


Responsibilities:

  • Implement policies, procedures and programs that ensure a healthy and safe workplace that is compliant with relevant laws and regulations
  • Monitor and report on OHSS non-compliance across all sites
  • Carry out site audits to identify areas of improvement and ensure that corrective measures are implemented
  • Conduct risk assessments on a continuous basis, to identify potential hazards and develop safety protocols to mitigate risks
  • Provide support on incident and accident investigations where/when needed
  • Advise on changes in laws and regulations and provide assistance with implementation thereof
  • Manage the daily administration of OHSS documentation flows, template development & updates, program management, record keeping and information updates
  • Coordinate OHSS internal communications activities including planned activities, information sharing, and processing of internal queries and incident reports

Requirements:
  • Minimum qualification of an accredited OHSS certificate at NQF Level 5 or equivalent, preferably recognised by the South African Institute Of Occupational Safety & Health (SAIOSH)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an OHSS Administrator a large site
  • Good knowledge of safety regulations and the requirements of the OHS Act 85 of 1993
  • Risk Assessment & Problem Solving proficiency
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and strong database management capabilities
  • Valid driver’s license with own transport
  • Experience and/or qualification in project management will be an added advantage
