RESEARCH TECHNOLOGIST

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Research Technologist at our Agri-Services division in Elgin, Grabouw. The successful candidate will work within the Research and Innovation Team and will play a key role with respect to project design, execution and reporting of results. The ideal candidate will need to have the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy. The position will report to the Research and Innovation Manager.

Responsibilities:

Evaluation of new cultivars
Manage and facilitate horticultural inputs in evaluation sites
Design and execution of trials
Data analysis and reporting of results

Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture or closely related field (postgraduate degree advantageous)
Good horticultural knowledge of, particularly pome fruit production
2+ Years relevant work experience in a similar or related role
Physically fit to perform duties that require physical labour
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft office
