RESEARCH AND INNOVATION MANAGER: POST HARVEST

Reporting to the GM: Technical Services, this opportunity is suited to a driven and technically strong professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Research & Innovation Manager will join our Packing Division in Grabouw and play a key role in advancing innovation within a progressive and quality-focused operation.

Responsibilities:

Investigate and initiate evaluation of new storage, sorting and packing technologies.
Explore and initiate innovation in packing formats and packaging materials
Oversee fruit storage and handling trials
Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with service providers of sorting, packing and storage technologies.
Implementation of new developments in collaboration with the operations management team.
Manage and motivate a small post-harvest Research & Innovation team

Requirements:

BSc Qualification in Engineering or Agriculture
5 Years experience in a similar or equivalent role
Understanding of scientific principles and practical application thereof
Computer literate (Advanced Excel and operational system experience)
Project Management skills
