Fruitways is a leading agri-business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

FRUIT TECHNOLOGIST - PACKING

We are looking for an experienced, innovative, and detail-oriented person with strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, who can provide specialist support to our Packing Operations, based in the Grabouw area.

Responsibilities:

Interpret specifications and lead the packsheds to apply specifications accurately from fruit receiving to final product.
Train quality personnel on specifications.
Conduct weekly packhouse visits to ensure correct implementation of product specifications and monitor the quality of packed products.
Facilitate and coordinate new processes and modify existing procedures to match business practices and requirements.
Perform daily, weekly, and yearly data analysis across sites and report results.
Conduct trials on new products and technologies in the packing operations.

Requirements:

Technical Degree/Diploma or relevant qualification in quality management, agriculture, or a related field.
3 Years relevant experience in quality assurance, especially within the agricultural or packing industry.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply technical specifications.
Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to drive continuous improvement.
