Fruitways is a leading agri-business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

PRE-SORTER MANAGER

Reporting to the Packhouse Manager, the successful candidate will be based at our Molteno Packhouse in Grabouw. The position requires a pro-active and well-organized individual, ensuring an effective and efficient pre-sorting function by optimizing the use of resources and meeting production and quality objectives.

Responsibilities:

Manage effective fruit grading according to provided quality and size specifications.
Effectively manage all pre-sorting processes to meet efficiency and throughput targets.
Fully utilise the pre-sorting software to ensure continuous improvement of sorting accuracy.
Interpret data to support maximum output of fruit according to quality specification.
Lead and develop a team of ±30 people.
Ensure correct working methods and procedures are adhered to with regards to personnel safety and food safety (OHS & BRC).

Requirements:

Industrial Engineering, Production Management or similar qualification will be advantageous
2 years’ working experience in a production environment
Intermediate computer literacy – Excel skills
Knowledge of fruit quality standards advantageous
Good interpersonal and communication skills
