Fruitways is a leading agri-business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

PACKHOUSE LOGISTICS MANAGER

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be based at our Melpack Packhouse in Vyeboom. We are looking for a self-motivated, pro-active individual who is able to provide specialist input into the optimisation of our Logistics and supply chain processes within the packhouse operation.

Responsibilities:

Ensure efficient execution of the supply plan by managing and monitoring the processes for bin logistics and pallet loading.
Oversee system transactions and manage information to ensure data accuracy and report on progress against set targets.
Review and analyse various supply chain and storage processes to enable process optimisation.
Conduct research, develop proposals and recommend best practice solutions to address key logistics and supply chain challenges.
Manage a team of experienced stock and logistics personnel.
Oversee health, safety and security systems and processes to ensure compliance to relevant legislation.

Requirements:

Tertiary Qualification in Warehousing, Logistics or Operations Management will be advantageous.
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a warehouse stock management role, preferably in a fruit packaging environment.
Computer literate and good knowledge of stock/warehouse systems.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels within an organisation.
Effective leadership skills.
