The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high quality and packing standards while building strong, collaborative relationships with packhouses and customers to ensure consistent product excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
This position is based in Somerset West, but the incumbent will be required to travel to the packhouses in the Grabouw/Vyeboom area. Own transport and valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers and the commercial team to understand product specifications, quality expectations, and market requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate clear product specification guidelines to sales teams and packhouse personnel.
- Conduct regular packhouse visits to provide technical guidance and ensure specifications are correctly interpreted and implemented.
- Monitor and manage customer compliance and due diligence requirements, ensuring alignment with evolving international market standards.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues by interpreting customer feedback and working closely with packhouses and clients to implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate existing packing formats and support the development and testing of new product and packaging innovations
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Science, or similar
- 3+ years’ experience in the fruit industry (pome/deciduous fruit preferably)
- Intermediate Excel and computer literacy
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
