ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
 

We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, delivery-focused Organisational Development (OD) Manager. This role drives organisation-wide capability, leadership depth and a sustainable internal talent pipeline through embedding fit-for-purpose OD, talent and succession, career pathing, Learning & Development frameworks, performance enablement, and targeted OD interventions across Fruitways
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead leadership and talent development programmes and build the people development architecture across levels, ensuring learning translates into measurable on-the-job capability.
  • Build and embed a company-wide talent management, succession and career pathing approach, including calibrated talent reviews, bench strength analysis, and clear progression routes for high-potential employees.
  • Develop and maintain competency frameworks and career pathways that define excellence per role and enable consistent readiness, development and internal mobility decisions.
  • Drive targeted OD diagnostics and interventions to improve organisational effectiveness across sites.
  • Set learning standards, priorities and impact measures—partnering closely with the Training & Development team for delivery and reporting.
  • Use assessment insights to strengthen individual development plans and provide talent and capability insights.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to align workforce plans, role requirements and selection outcomes with internal pipeline and succession needs—hiring for both immediate and future potential.
  • Champion performance enablement by equipping managers to set expectations, hold meaningful development conversations, and translate performance outcomes into targeted actions.
  • Lead culture and values enablement through practical, site-level leadership interventions and drive early talent pipelines (learnerships, internships, student programmes) with clear progression pathways. 


Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Human Resources or related field.
  • HPCSA registration as an Industrial Psychologist / Psychometrist.
  • 5+ years’ experience in OD / Talent / Leadership Development / Performance Enablement
  • Proven experience embedding succession planning, talent reviews, leadership development and capability governance (not only designing frameworks).
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder influence skills, able to partner credibly with operational managers.
  • Strong analytical capability: translate data into insight, practical action, impact measurement and decision support.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant SA legislation (BCEA, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act).
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
